About Time

Some of us.... we go through life doing all the right things in order to make it big and to have a comfortable life but it just feels like we haven't got out reward. You think that because we know how to prepare, that we would know our prize in the end, but sometimes we get lost looking. Looking for the materials. We just always get the shit and we just want to sit back and smile at what we have done and be able to show people how far we have come. But that is shallow. We want to do people as people did to us.... to brag and throw it in their face. I guess we just want to be on top. In high school, it's not about what is going to happen in 5 years when your talking amongst your friends but, who's going to get the girl today. And let's face it... being smart and knowing what you want to do in your life may scare the girls away. WTF Prince? Yeah, they give the line... I don't want to be in your way. Rejection and denial seems to always follow us but, there is light at the end of the tunnel. For most kids 16th birthday they get a car, a life changer. I wasn't as lucky to get a car but instead I was able to visit family in Oregon. It didn't feel like a big deal until I started to go out. My cousins knew everybody and soon I was known too. I was asked to transfer here and I took it. I thought about my friends but, my choice had to follow the way I've been living for for the past 16 years and better my future. I got my gift for doing well, I think. I'm moving to a place where I'm not judged and put down by my skin color and the weather is perfect, for me at least. What I'm trying to say is, path's have destinations on them and if you follow them long enough you'll find them and they will be a reflection of how your living your life.
