The Shot

Every shot doesn't go in. That's just how things work. The greatest of all time didn't win every game, make every shot and some will be forgotten in a matter of a few years. But that last shot will play over and over in your head, that is, until you get another. Shooters are supposed to have the shortest memory. If you've missed your last 10 shots, you best believe that number 11 is going in. Sometimes it doesn't matter if you've worked your ass of the entire game or if you set yourself up for the prefect bucket, it may just not go your way. You may just not get that call. You know you should of and anyone with half a brain knows you should of but somehow, by some wacky incidence, you failed. Or did you? What do you do after your missed shot? Michael said it best, "I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed" Maybe the good looking shot was just God's way of showing you how good it can feel when you're in the zone. When everything is perfect. Why did he throw the slight gust of wind or have the ball come off your fingertips the way it did? Because that wasn't your shot. You should of passed it. The defense got in the way and because you was selfish, you lost There's a better basket coming up though. Your basket and that shit is definitely going in. Your 11th basket.
